Why Iran? |
|
|
The United Nations declared 2001 The Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations.
This undertaking Strives to transcend human conflicts and to increase
mutual understanding around the world.
The September 11th attacks also happened in 2001 and later president
George W. Bush declared the war against terrorism, and named Iran
as one of the three states comprising an "Axis of Evil."
The world risks becoming more dangerous if governments and media manage to foster the perception that civilizational war between the east and the west is unavoidable.
Window to Iran, on the other hand, represents one step taken away from disastrous misunderstanding and towards establishing instead the Dialogue Among Civilizations envisioned by the UN.
By arranging cultural and educational exchanges between ordinary people, Window to Iran gives Canadians an opportunity to experience and to understand foe themselves Irans unique and diverse culture.
